How To Applying Mascara Like A Makeup Artist

Lift and curl lashes before applying mascara with an eyelash curler. This widens your eyes and defines your face. Use a hairdryer to mildly heat the eyelash curler for longer curls.

1.  Curl Your Lashes First

Apply lash prep before mascara to lengthen and volumize lashes. Lash primers improve mascara adhesion, extending its wear.

2. Apply Lash Primer

Various mascara wands produce different effects. Volumizing mascara has a thick bristle brush. Choose a wand with longer, more divided bristles to extend.

3. Selecting a Mascara Wand

Remove excess mascara from the wand with a napkin before applying. This prevents clumping and provides even application.

4. Remove Extra Product

Wiggle the mascara wand at the base of your lashes. This coats your lash roots, making them appear fuller.

5.  Base wiggle

Zig-zag the wand up your lashes. This separates and prevents lashes from clumping together, producing a defined and voluminous look.

6. Zigzag

Build mascara in small layers instead than one hefty application. Avoid clumping by drying each coat before applying the next. This approach gives a fluffy, natural finish.

7. Build Layers

For a cat-eye or winged eyeliner, apply extra mascara to the outer lashes. Longer eyes and an appealing shape result.

8. Focus on Outer Lashes

Use a smaller mascara wand or lower lash mascara to coat lower lashes without smearing. Gentleness prevents clumping and extra product.

9. Bottom Lash Matters
