Myrtle Beach International Airport Is Growing

It could possibly be the sun, the sand, or the beaches, or golf.  People are migrating to South Carolina for whatever reason, and Myrtle Beach International Airport is expanding.

An location that was once an ideal summer vacation spot is now a year-round tourist attraction. Summer continues to be the height of the tourism season and the most favorable time to visit the region.

Additionally, the airport is expanding its parking facilities and terminal, as well as increasing the number of aircraft operated by ultra-low-cost carriers like Spirit Airlines and Breeze Airways.

With regard to reserved seats, I anticipate that the current travel season will be comparable to the previous two years," said Ryan Betcher, assistant director of airports.

In April, it begins to accumulate in mass, and by May, it has begun to exhibit those enormous increases." However, there is undeniable growth in the shoulder season in comparison to previous years."

Betcher stated that construction will shortly commence on an additional remote parking lot located south of the terminal building, or a short par-4 distance from your flight.

A terminal expansion of 45,000 square feet will commence in June, resulting in the addition of six entrances to the existing facility. Thus, the total count of gates will increase to 18.

We are prepared," stated Betcher. "As the terminal expansion commences, no existing gates will be removed." We do not anticipate operating with fewer gates, so everything should continue as usual.

Breeze arrives in Myrtle Beach later this month, bringing the total number of carriers to eleven. Breeze operates flights to Providence and Hartford.
